The van that carries your tools or the SUV you take on holiday can't afford to stay parked with a flat battery. The NOCO Boost X GBX75 gives you the current to get moving again on your own.

It supplies 2500A peak for petrol engines up to 8.5 L and diesels up to 6.5 L on 12V lead-acid batteries, from cars and motorbikes to boats, motorhomes and tractors. If it's run down, just 5 minutes on charge lets you jump start. UltraSafe 2.0 keeps things spark-free and protected against reversed clamps.

The USB-C PD port (60W) refills it in 1.7 h on a 60W charger and charges laptops and phones; a 12V to USB-C cable is in the box for charging from the car. There's also a 400-lumen torch.

How to use it, step by step

• 1.  Take the key out and make sure nothing is switched on.
• 2.  Connect the red clamp to the positive terminal and the black clamp to the negative terminal or a solid metal earth point.
• 3.  Turn on the GBX75, then start the engine.
• 4.  Once it's running, unclip black first and then red.
• 5.  Recharge the GBX75 over USB-C at home or with the 12V to USB-C cable in the car.
