We all know the feeling: the booster has been in the boot for months and is flat just when you need it. With the NOCO Boost X GBX45 that's no drama, because five minutes on a USB-C charger is enough to jump start, even from 0%.

It delivers 1250A peak for petrol engines up to 6.5 L and diesels up to 4.0 L, whether that's a car, motorbike, SUV, van, boat, motorhome or tractor. UltraSafe 2.0 means no sparks and no damage from reversed clamps.

Its USB-C PD port (60W) works both ways: a full charge takes 0.8 h on a 60W charger, and it can charge your phone, tablet or laptop. A 100-lumen torch and an IP65 casing round it off.

How to use it, step by step

• 1.  Turn the ignition off. If the GBX45 is empty, give it 5 minutes on USB-C first.
• 2.  Put the red clamp on the positive (+) terminal and the black clamp on the negative (-) terminal or a metal earth point.
• 3.  Switch the GBX45 on.
• 4.  Start the engine and remove the black clamp, then the red one.
• 5.  Plug it into a USB-C charger when you're done: 0.8 h with 60W.
