A flat battery and a soft tyre are the two classic reasons to get stuck by the roadside. The NOCO Boost Air AX65 deals with both, so you don't have to wait for help.
As a jump starter it delivers 2000A peak for petrol engines up to 8.0 L and diesels up to 6.0 L, with spark-proof, reverse polarity protected clamps. As a cordless compressor its 280W motor reaches 6.89 bar (100 PSI) and 67 L/min, so a 205/65 R16 tyre goes from flat to 40 PSI in around 2 minutes, for tyres up to 35 inches.
Pick your target pressure in PSI, bar or kPa and the pump switches off when it gets there. It charges over USB-C PD at 60W, has a 100-lumen torch and comes with Presta/needle and inflatable adapters.
How to use it, step by step
- 1. To jump start, switch off the ignition first.
- 2. Fix the red clamp to positive (+) and the black clamp to negative (-) or a metal earth point.
- 3. Turn the AX65 on; if a battery under 3V isn't detected, use manual override. Then start the engine.
- 4. Take the clamps off in reverse order, black before red.
- 5. For a tyre, screw on the hose, set the pressure on the display and let it stop by itself. Recharge over USB-C afterwards.
